Firefighter Eric Newman Retires
Firefighter Eric Newman has officially clocked out for his last tour of duty and entered retirement on November 29, 2021.
Eric began his fire service career with the City of Rolla in 1997 before joining us as a volunteer in October of 2009. Firefighter Newman was then brought on as a career member 5 months later in March of 2010 in which he spent the next 11 years serving the people of Osage Beach Fire District. Firefighter Newman has been an integral part of this fire district and will be greatly missed. Many nights at the dinner table have been filled with stories and laughter with Eric. Over the years he has taught many new firefighters the workings of the fire district and how to be better each and every day. Firefighter Newman served for many years as President of the Firefighters Local 3987 which encompasses all Lake Area Departments including the City of Rolla. Eric has been a vital asset to helping grow the relationship between the local and management of the fire district for many years. Firefighter Newman over the years has served professionally, proudly, and honorably for the 12 years we have been honored to be a part of his career. It is hard to say how many lives have been touched, homes saved, and people guided that Eric has played a part in but we know it is more than we can count.
Firefighter Eric Newman although you may not be with us on the truck. You will always have a seat at the dinner table with us.
To the Newman Family, we thank you for sharing Eric with us and allowing us to know him. Being a firefighter is not for the faint of heart with long shifts away from your loved ones and you have been gracious enough to share him for the last 12 years.
Firefighter Newman we would like to wish you the best in retirement. We stand with you and our prayers will continue with you and your family. You will always be welcome.
