Osage Beach Fire Opens Hiring Process
The Osage Beach Fire Protection district has officially opened it’s hiring process for several positions within the district for the rank of Firefighter. This decision comes with the current climate of an increasing call volume and resources being spread thin with multiple incidents occurring regularly. At the time of this writing, the fire district is nearly 180 calls higher than the current record pace set in 2024.
Currently the fire district starts firefighters at a wage of $17.50 per hour ($52,500 per year) with an increase expected up to 2027 to $19.50 per hour ($58,500 per year).
The Osage Beach Fire Protection District responds to 2,300+ calls for service each year and is located at the Lake of the Ozarks. We provide coverage to 104 square miles including 30 miles of shoreline from 2 staffed firehouses. Currently, there are talks of staffing a third station to accommodate the call volume and reduce response times to parts of the district. During peak season our population can swell up to 100,000 or more people throughout the area.
